You've asked and we've answered! We found an easy, quick recipe to keep your mat clean and safe without any harsh chemicals. From sticky kid hands to dirty feet to serious grown-up sweat, this cleaner will take care of it all so you can savasana in peace.
- One small spray bottle
A small strip of paper & a pen or marker (to make a label, of course!)
1 cup of water, preferably filtered
2 tablespoons organic apple cider vinegar
10-12 drops of tea tree oil
10-12 drops of any other essential oils you like (we dig lavender, eucalyptus, and/or peppermint)
Ok, here are the directions. Ready for this? Mix everything together in the spray bottle. Label it. It's that easy!
Option for younger kids: Have your kiddo work their art skills on the label while you gather & mix the ingredients. It’s ok if the label is illegible because you could spray this on anything (even in your hair!) and it’s fine. The vinegar will dry scentless.
Option for older kids: Put ‘em to work! They can do this whole project with minimal adult supervision.
To use the spray: Spritz the mat at the end of your class and wipe clean when you’re dashing out of the studio and onto the next activity. If you have more time, drench the mat and allow to air dry. Perfect after a home practice or as a weekly deep clean.
Bonus: Use this cleaner to clean up any workout equipment- your block, hand weights, your treadmill, etc. It can also be used to wipe down toys from Legos to dolls. Even spritz a stuffed animal and allow to dry for a little disinfecting between trips to the washing machine.
