After many years of working in the field and running a successful kids only yoga studio, owners Abby Nagler and An Dang created a teacher training program based on their extensive knowledge of teaching yoga to babies through pre-teens. Their approach to this training has been to collaborate with other experts in the fields of behavioral development, developmental anatomy, and occupational therapy to provide trainees with a well rounded approach to working with kids through yoga.
What should i expect?
TLYH Kids Teacher Training is an intensive. This means that we spend a lot of time together doing both movement and lecture in a short amount of time. We will be sitting on the ground during the lecture portions of the training so please make sure to bring any additional items you may need to make it as comfortable as possible. There will be a lot of movement and partnering, however we never force anyone to participate in anything that makes them uncomfortable. However, we do encourage that you give it a try!
What should i bring?
Please bring a mat, water bottle (we have a water fountain to refill bottles), a pen and light snacks. We will have a few snacking options here as well. You will be given a manual that covers everything we will learn in the training so you are welcome to leave additional notebooks/journals at home.
Sean Buchner SPT - Anatomy in Relation to Child Development
Sean, currently in his second year of his Doctorate of Physical Therapy, has been teaching anatomy to yoga students for two years. He owes his growth to the many yoga teachers who have inspired his interest in the anatomy of movement. Educated as an elementary teacher, Sean took the first step towards cultivating his dedication and excitement for anatomy five years ago through yoga teacher training. This initial frightening step was well worth it, as he is able to share with others his passion of anatomy and movement everyday. He is excited to be delivering his joy to inspire the love of learning about the body and movement in others in an interactive and fun environment.

"TLYH Teacher Training was so fun and I learned so much! Abby & An have years of experience and training that they wrap up in an incredible kids yoga training that is hands-on and personable. I left the training inspired and equipped to play yoga with kiddos and families. I am grateful to be a part of the amazing community at TLYH!"
"The TLYH kids training has been one of the best trainings I have had. Having always worked with adult populations, I found that I had limited tools when working with kids. After taking this training, I feel completely confident using tools that kids find fun and actually work to teach yoga! The TLYH staff personally live what they teach, they uphold the principles of yoga, and listen to the wisdom of their clients in order to help kids live a mindful and vibrant life. I highly recommend this training to anyone who wants to learn how to teach yoga to kids, but also to anyone looking for creative ways to bring yoga to life for adult populations as well!"
